Marriages are meant to last a lifetime, but is that even possible while living the RV lifestyle? Of course, it is. I have a few suggestions that may just help ease those tensions. Jim and I have just celebrated out 31st anniversary and it is not easy in a sticks and bricks where you have the space needed sometimes. However, there are several ways that you can gain that special space when needed.
1) If tensions are high and space is needed, take a walk or just sit in a comfy chair on the lawn.
2) Take a nap and let the stresses just slip away as you drift away.
3) Once the air has cleared, have a nice quiet dinner and relax.
4) Talk it out once you have both had time to cool off and are able to listen to each other’s needs.
5) Remember, this too shall pass. You made a commitment to each other and deserve to see it through. Remember why you made those commitments and why you should continue them.
Believe me marriage is difficult but rewarding at the same time. You have a lifelong friend, soulmate, and someone to share the ups and downs with. The RV lifestyle isn’t for everyone, and your marriage should always come first, so if you or your significant other don’t agree that this lifestyle is for you, listen to each other and find a common ground that you both can live with. Life is too short to allow the little things in life define you. Happy trails and remember you got this.
