What makes a great RV park. A comfortable home feeling while RVing, beautiful scenery, quite spaces, quality time with others and entertainment. These are all things to consider when choosing your campground.
The basic list that most RVers typically look for in a campground include level campsites, full hook-ups, affordable prices and campground amenities. Other circumstances that may also determine the campground in which the RVer chooses to stay may depend on the day of the week, the weather and the location.
Campgrounds are typically more crowded on the weekend with families. Other than the occasional campfire get-together during these weekend nights, some people prefer staying at their own campsite and enjoying some leisure time.
Some may enjoy RVing during the week, where they may encounter people who are retired and travel from place to place. Where in these instances may have more in common with fellow retirees.
It is always nice to find out about your fellow RVers such as where they are from and where they are headed? It is interesting and could also help with a bucket list of adventures.
Weather conditions are something you should also consider when selecting a campground. If you are in an area that often has tornado warnings or frequent storms, verifying that there is a storm shelter or sturdy concrete building is a must.
Check to see what amenities the campground has to offer such as hiking, swimming, miniature golf, fishing or boating. If temperatures are too cold to enjoy the outdoors, and being cooped up may be a requirement, be sure to verify the campground is equipped with cable TV or WiFi for browsing the web or streaming TV.
Amenities such as laundry, bath house, convenience and grocery stores close by are things that you may also want to consider when choosing which campground you wish to visit.
When choosing the best location at the campsite depending on your desires you may want to consider the surrounding scenery and where to setup for the best view for sunrise or sunset, unobstructed view of the mountains or water, viewing of wildlife, etc.
Most campgrounds advertise level sites, full hook-ups, affordable prices and amenities, but always double check to be sure the amenities that you require are actually available for the time you wish to visit. Being prepared makes the process of setup and enjoying your time at the campground more pleasant when you are aware of the amenities that are available when visiting.
As always, enjoy your time and remember, we never know how much time we get, so make each day count. Happy Travels.
